The Barracuda, Barracuda-FLY, and the Side Winder are the winners when adaptive rod holders are required.
The Barracuda is engineered to assist anglers who struggle with holding a fishing rod, enabling them to catch more fish with greater ease. While it does depend on the angler's strength and ability, this harnessed rod holder secures the fishing rod in front of the angler, allowing for ONE-ARM FISHING with either the right or left hand. The Barracuda is specifically designed for individuals who have experienced a stroke, amputation, or PTSD. The harness distributes energy across the shoulders, back, and legs, granting the angler enhanced independence, control, excitement, and enjoyment while fishing. These adaptive fishing rod holders are your ticket to reeling in more catches.
Crafted from corrosion-resistant aircraft aluminum, stainless steel nylon hardware, polypropylene webbing, and high-impact plastic buckles and connectors, the Barracuda stands up to the elements. Most of its aluminum components are powder-coated for added protection and durability.
Compatible with any fishing rod handle that measures less than 1-1/4 inches in diameter and is long enough to utilize both thumb screws, the Barracuda is designed for versatility.
Maximize your use of our adaptive fishing equipment by installing a gimbal on your fishing rod for use with the Barracuda or Side Winder systems. The gimbal prevents side-to-side movement when reeling in a fish. Equip all your rods with gimbal butts to seamlessly use them with any of our fishing rod holders. Consider adding the spring-loaded plunger to your setup—it ensures the rod stays engaged in the gimbal even when the handle moves forward while reeling. Each system order includes a complimentary drill kit and instructions to install your own gimbals, perfect for those adding the plunger.
Introducing the Barracuda-Fly, the latest innovation from Freedom Adaptive Systems. For those with upper body mobility issues who love fly fishing, the Barracuda-Fly will have you back on your favorite waters, landing that prize fish with ease.
