The Barracuda is designed to help anglers who have difficulties holding a fishing rod catch more fish.  It is limited by the angler's strength and ability. The Barracuda is a harnessed rod holder that holds a fishing rod securely in front of the angler allowing ONE ARM FISHING using either the right or left hand.  It was designed with people who have had a Stroke, an amputation, or SUFFER FROM PTSD in mind.  The harness helps distribute energy to the shoulders, back, and the legs. The Barracuda is made from corrosion resistant aircraft aluminum, stainless steel nylon hardware, Polypropylene webbing and high impact plastic buckles and connectors.  Most aluminum parts that make up the Barracuda are powder coated for extra protection and durability.  

You can use any style fishing rod handle as long as it's less than 1-1/4 inches in diameter and is long enough to reach to the end of the tube to use both thumb screws.   

 Take full advantage of our adaptive fishing equipment,by installing a gimbal on the fishing rod to be used with the Barracuda, or the Side Winder systems'  The gimbal will keep the fishing rod from moving  side to side when reeling in a fish.   Install a gimbal butt on all of your fishing rods you can use them with any of our fishing rod holders. The spring loaded plunger is another "add-on" for our systems.  It will replace will keep the rod from  disengaging the gimbal when reeling and handle moves forward.   Each system ordered  will ship with a drill kit and instructions (Free Of Charge) to install your own gimbals if you are installing the plunger.  

 The Barracuda-Fly is Freedom Adaptive Systems' newest addition.  Using the design features of the Barracuda with a tube that holds the fly rod and reel.   It gives the disabled angler stability when  reeling in the catch of the day. 

If you have an upper body mobility issues and love to fly fish the Barracuda-Fly will get you on your favorite body of  water landing  the money fish.

The Side Winder is one of the easiest adaptive rod holders to use.  Designed for use by individuals with arm or hand mobility issues.  It is an excellent rod holder for catching smaller sized fish to 30 pounds.  

This adaptive rod holder like the Barracuda,  will work with any rod handle less than 1-1/4” in diameter.  The Side Winder has a unique spring loaded tube that holds the fishing rod, allowing the rod to be easily adjusted to one of four fishing positions.  You can set the hook and play the fish as well as anyone on the boat, limited only by your abilities. 

Fishing with a gimbal butt lets you take full advantage of the Side Winder.  The gimbal will engage the pivot bolt in the rod tube tightened the thumb screw the rod is locked and ready to fish. The Side Winder is available for right or left hand use.
